It is proposed to strengthen 100m of RW922 located immediately adjacent to the west of the Carnwath Road Riverside (CARRR) site by adding concrete counterforts to the rear of the wall. Each of the counterforts is an in-situ cast concrete block with a dimension of 3.5mx3.5mx3.5m, and will be spaced at 5m centres along wall. The installation of the counterforts will involve excavating pits behind the river wall between existing tie rod locations and casting concrete which willl be tied into existing wall. Reinstatement of the footpath following the strengthening works will be carried out in accordance with LBHF'S guidance and standards for works on the highway, outlined in the Streetsmart Guidance Volume 2 (2016) in consultation with the council (highways department).
