Rear Garden:T1 - Apple - reduce and reshape crown by up to 1.5 metres.T2 - 1 No. Blackthorn - fell to ground level.T3 - 2 No. Acer - neighbour's trees - fell closest tree to ground level and prune overhanging growth from other tree back to boundary.
Yew (T.Baccata) , TPO reference 1/89; T1. Significant growth since last crown reduction, branches now in contact with the house as well as beyond the boundary to the main road. Requesting permission to implement management plan as outlined in the attached survey, reducing crown by 20% to established pruning points and 10% (subject to prior inspection) to maintain pruning points every 2 years .
I am proposing to fell an old and unsightly broom tree at the end of the rear garden. This will clear ground in order to build a summer house similar to my neighbours at 56 Priory Street. I have also recently felled a cypress tree following council permission and will replace both with fruit trees.
I wish to fell the sycamore T1 and elm T2 identified as such in the attached plan and photos. Trees are identified by Nigel Philips FSGD MBALI. The sycamore is growing out of a steep chalk cliff face (the eponymous Cliffe). The chalk is weathered, fragile, friable and liable to falls. The sycamore grows out of the chalk at approx 45 degrees for approx 15' - 20' and then grows into approx 6 smaller trunks vertically to form a massive canopy. The effect of the canopy in leaf during wind is to act on the roots in a manner which will inventiable lead to eventual collapse. The tree is therefore dangerous and collapse my be imminent. Inspection will confirm the above. The elm has contracted Dutch Elm Disease and is mostly dead.
