LAND OFF NERROLS DRIVE, TAUNTON, TA2 8QE APPLICATION FOR APPROVAL OF DETAILS RESERVED BY CONDITION 10: requires the submission of details in respect of the construction of properly consolidated and surfaced parking spaces and turning space for vehicles within the school site. Discharge of Condition 12 requires the submission of details in respect of external artificial lighting that has been designed to limit impact on bats. The lighting design has been developed in consultation with the project ecologist who originally raised concerns regarding the use of 360 degree bollard lighting adjacent to the proposed wildlife area. The proposals were amended to show 180 degree bollard lighting in this location preventing any light spill (annotated at X6 on the submitted plan). In addition the proposed bollard lighting along the footpath that runs to the north of the retained oak tree (annotated X5 and X6) provides no upwards light spill which is beneficial to commuting bats. The following information is submitted to satisfy the requirements of this condition:
Discharge of Condition 14: identifies that any hedgerow, tree or shrub removal that is to take place before 31st August must be undertaken following a check for nesting birds by a competent ecologist.
Discharge of Condition 15: requires a reptile mitigation strategy to be approved by the County Council and be implemented in full before any groundworks of vegetation clearance commences.
Discharge of Condition 19: requires samples and details of the materials to be used in the construction of the external surfaces of the building to be approved.
Discharge of Condition 3: requires written notification of the date of commencement be given to the County Planning Authority within seven days of the commencement of the development.
Discharge of Condition 4: requires detailed plans of the proposed vehicular access to be approved by the County Planning Authority before the development commences. Discharge of Condition 9 requires that before the development is first brought into use a Travel Plan shall be submitted to and approved in writing by the planning authority. The School Travel Plan, prepared by the Richard Huish Trust of which Nerrols Primary School is a member, details the accessibility of the site by various sustainable modes of travel, outlines initiatives that will be implemented to encourage sustainable travel choices and details the monitoring and review process.
