The proposed works at Yeovil Library are to improve on the buildings poor energy performance. The works are to consist of; window replacements, additional insulation and new Air Source Heat Pumps as amended by documents ref: - Design Amendment email 17/05/2021 - redacted - Window Schedule - Planning / Design and access statement - External Photo Schedule - Existing Elevations - Proposed Elevations - Proposed Floor Plans ...received 17/05/2021’ The existing windows are a combination of aluminium and timber single glazed units. The units are end of life and contributing to poor thermal performance. These are to be replaced with new aluminium double glazed units, and some louvered details. For further energy improvements, a selection of the existing window openings as indicated on the plans are to be partitioned off with insulation to reduce heat loss through glazed sections. These infilled sections are to retain the existing windows, minimizing alteration to the external aesthetics. The internal face of these retained windows are to be covered with an opaque glazing film. The infill partition is to include insulation and finished internally with insulated plasterboard generally flush to existing internal wall faces. Two Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP's) are to be installed within the existing boiler room to boost internal space heating. The boiler rooms existing external doors are to be removed and ASHP's units put in place. The ASHP's will be mechanically fixed to an Bath Stone Block plinth and have a louvered partition surround within the boiler room. A new internal door will provide access to the boiler room from the internal circulation space.

The development shall be carried out in accordance with the materials so approved unless prior written approval is given by the County Planning Authority to any variation.
