North car park boundary ? a number of sycamores are now getting to a size where they need management. We propose to thin out a few of them and then target prune the others alongside the hawthorns as they are encroaching out onto the car park.2. West car park boundary ? We need to do some polesaw works along the boundary where large limbs are encroaching the car park and starting to hang. I will also be getting a quote for a MEWP to be brought in to do a crown lift along the line. There is one sycamore not in the greatest of health to the south of that line towards the corner which is proposed to be dismantled. 3. House boundaries South East corner ? There are a number of medium sized sycamore trees not in the best of health in the number of 5 or 6 which due to their location near and over neighbouring boundaries we plan to fell. 4. The Bailey road ? there are a few trees which are in need of target pruning to maintain a manageable sized trees alongside the road.5. The bailey ? a section of former hedge containing an old hawthorn. We plan to remove the sycamore and reduce the holly tree, freeing up the old hawthorn which might have a couple of branches pruned for maintenance. This will bring back a hedge sized scrub growth which will better show off the site and make the steps up to the motte visible. 6. The Bailey ? adjacent to the new accessible path we need to thin out some of the trees to feel less encroached, where possible laying the front line of trees to have a living structure which will protect the slopes, keep the trees to a manageable size on a scheduled ancient monument. Old hawthorns will be pruned, younger thorns layered where possible at top and bottom of compartment. Trees in the centre predominantly hawthorn, and oak will be re-coppiced allowing light back to the floor to improve ground flora.
