Removal of Conifer tree in Conservation area We would like to remove a Conifer tree which has a girth of 30cms and a height of approximately 8 metres, the conifer is situated in the garden of Ashfield House, Lockton, but the canopy is only 2 metres away from the roofline of No.3 Ashfield Cottage, Lockton, both properties are owed by ourselves. The tree has already recently caused damage during windy conditions to the main roof of No.3 Ashfield Cottage and also the flat roof extension and this looks like it will be an ongoing situation, therefore we are seeking the urgent permission to remove the conifer tree before more damage is caused. On 21st May 2020 we have had CPA Tree Surgeons from Fryup near Whitby to inspect the tree, they tried to contact you without success and suggested we contact you to seek approval the Conifer tree to be removed.

Pine Tree (see Photo A) - we would like to chop out top of tree and see what happens. It has been done previously as shown in Photo B. If it sorts itself out that will be wonderful as we are very appreciative of its qualities: it looks lovely and contributes to our garden. But if it doesn't and continues to damage surrounding walls and tiled floor we would like permission to remove it and plant something in its place.

The tree is a conifer to the right of a walk way through to the grounds of the property - it needs to be removed as the tree (a conifer) to the left has died (this has already been identified with photos). The removal of both trees will allow replanting of two trees of the same variety to keep the symmetry of the garden. The replacement trees will likely be Fastigiata Hornbeam.

The tree is the Oak Tree previously subject to NYM/2020/0715/WTCA. Consistent with previous periodic maintenance we wish to carry out selective lateral crown reduction to maintain the tree at approximately 7m average crown spread as per guidance during the previous works in 2020. It is noted that the tree is in good health, although some damage to glass on outbuildings was sustained by branches dropped during recent high winds.
