The Cresset Tree Map - shows position of Oak tree requested to be removed (T1) along with surrounding Oak trees (T2 & T3) and position of trees requested to have their crowns raised (T4 & T5). Photo 1 shows Oak tree T1 and surrounding Oak trees T2 & T3. Photo 2 shows trees T4 & T5The Oak tree T1 is almost rubbing on T3 and the application is to remove tree T1 completely. Trees T4 & T5 are both some sort of pine, possibly Leylandii. The application is for both trees to have their crowns overhanging the access track, raised to the level of the first major bough of tree T5 to allow more light to fall on underlying plants. This would reduce the overall crowns by a small amount approximately 10%. Both items of work have been shown to and discussed with Jerry Willis, an Isle of Wight Tree Protection Officer, who indicated that the work would be permissible.
