13/02161/TPO | Hart | Small | Permitted | Trees | We are applying for consent to fell and remove a Scots Pine which is located in our rear garden and is situated 4.6m from the north east corner of the rear of the house (Ref 10927 and ringed red on attached sketch). The Scots Pine is subject to a TPO. We have 16 No Scots Pines in our garden (with 4 No on the boundary) and have managed and nurtured them for the 25 years we have lived here. Our management has consisted of removing dead branches and the removal of damaged branches caused by heavy snowfall. We fully appreciate and understand the visual amenity the trees give to the general public and support this view. However we feel that the loss of this one Scots Pine from our garden would not significantly affect the public amenity. The Scots Pine can be seen from the public road and also from our gate but it would be difficult to identify precisely as it is blends in with our other trees in the line of sight of the viewer. The removal of this Scots Pine would open up and allow more sunlight (as it currently shades the garden) into the rear garden and allow the planting of other trees and shrubs in the North East of the garden and allow these to grow and flourish. It would also allow the relaying of a paved patio which is subject to uneven lifting due to root growth. We also apply for consent to remove and fell a Goat Willow which is situated in the rear garden at the north west corner of the house (Ref B1 in red). The tree is large and sprawling and the trunk is leaning towards the house at an angle and is prevented from toppling by a stout prop. The tree has been viewed by the tree officer who confirmed it was of little visual or amenity value. This tree is not noted in the schedule as protected by a TPO.The Willow currently shades two young Beech trees which are situated on our boarder with our neighbours and are struggling for light and have grown tall and leggy (Ref B2 and B3 in red). With the removal of the Willow tree we would propose formative pruning. | 6 Monks Rise Fleet Hampshire GU51 4HB | 20/10/2015 | Link | ||||
